Keynote I

Sam Ramsamy |
Sam Ramsamy is an educator,
activist and sports
administrator from South Africa.
In the 1980s, he was a
high-profile anti-apartheid
campaigner in London and was
chairman of the South Africa non-racial Olympic Committee
(SAN-ROC) during the apartheid
years from 1976 to 1990,
campaigning against
discrimination in sport and
against the participation of
South Africa's white-only teams
in international sporting
events. He returned to South
Africa upon the lifting of ban
on the ANC and became the
President of South Africa's
official National Olympic
Committee from 1991. Ramsamy led
the first non-racial South
African team to the 1992
Barcelona Olympics. Ramsamy is a
member of the International Olympic Committee.

Keynote II

Gerhard Heiberg |
Gerhard
Heiberg started his Olympic career as the Chairman, President and CEO
in 1989 for the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympic Games and for the
Lillehammer Paralympic Games.
He was elected member of the IOC after the success of the Lillehammer
Games in September 1994. He has been member of several Coordination
Commissions and the Sport and Environment Commission as well as other
IOC Commissions. He was also the Chairman of the Evaluation Commission
for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Since 2001 Mr. Heiberg has been the
Chairman of the IOC Marketing Commission and since 2010 Chairman of the
Philately, Numismatic and Memorabilia Commission. He was elected member
of the Executive Board in 2003 and re‐elected in 2007. Mr. Heiberg has been a member of the Executive Board of
the Norwegian Olympic Committee since 1994. |
Keynote III

Richard Pound |
Richard Pound, is a Canadian
lawyer, partner of the law firm
Stikeman Elliott, the former
president of the World Anti-Doping
Agency (WADA) based in Montreal, and
former chancellor of McGill
University. Former Olympic swimmer and Vice-President of the International Olympic
Committee, Mr. Pound has been inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame
for his achievements in sports, both as an athlete and as an executive.
He is chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation of Greater
Montreal and honorary chairman of Swimming Canada's CANswim Movement.
He is a Fellow of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec (FCA) and won the 2012 Outstanding Achievement Award, the Ordre's highest recognition for members of the profession.
